The challenge
SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles has a capacity of 70,240 spectators. Its chilled water plant has 3,600 TR of cooling capacity, and the stadium keeps plant data in its own data warehousing platform.
Exergenics applied its machine learning engine to that data to improve the energy efficiency of the chilled water plant. The facilities management (FM) team highlighted additional plant nuances, and Exergenics adjusted its modeling constraints to suit the site.
No black box. No training. No security issues.

The Exergenics approach
Recommendations deployed by the site team
Exergenics doesn't write to the building controls. The site team deployed the Exergenics recommendations, and the modeling constraints were adjusted with site feedback to keep deployment as simple as possible.
Data and documentation
Data came from the stadium's data warehousing platform. The facilities management (FM) team highlighted additional plant nuances.
Strategy development
Exergenics adjusted its modeling constraints based on site feedback, so the strategy could be deployed in the simplest possible way.
Strategy implementation
The site team deployed the Exergenics recommendations in June 2023.
Measurement and verification
Preliminary remote witnessing of the deployment was completed in June 2023. Final measurement and verification (M&V) confirmed the results.
